WEEKLY NOTES FOR 14-20 FEBRUARY 2021.
Another week and another FED speech. The focus for the week ahead is on the FED Powell testimony in front of Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday, the 23rd and 24th of February 2021. The markets will also watch the House Democrats’ actions on the $1.9 trillion stimulus bill. House Democrats are taking a major step forward to vote on President Joe Biden’s massive $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill by the end of next week.
The markets are already starting to price a potential tapering from the FED, that is the reason why everyone is waiting for the Powell testimony in front of Congress. Investors will watch for any remarks about, inflation, rising movement yields, and tapering/ending of the QE from the FED Chairman.
